Not to toot my own horn, but I have a pretty good track record when it comes to the conflict in Ukraine. I have written essays for two years predicting that Vladimir Putin wanted to make mischief in Ukraine. I got only one thing wrong – in February I thought that Putin would not be stupid enough to invade Ukraine with as small an army as he had amassed. And he did invade then, with a smaller army than he needed, and they promptly got smacked.
But Putin has wanted to do this for a long time and does not mind enduring the costs of the war. He has lost many soldiers so far, but does he care? Unless the mothers are revolting over the loss of their sons, he won’t face much pressure.
