I think it is time for all of us to reread Michel Houellebecq’s excellent novel, Submission. In the book, France’s Muslim population agrees to support the government and help form a coalition, provided that the Muslim group has control over just one department – education. This is a long game they are playing. Over time, they were able to make the curriculum increasingly Islamic until France raised an entire generation of Hijab-wearers.
I think we face a comparable threat in America, where foreign powers seek to mold the minds of future leaders through subtle manipulation of curricula and research agendas. Foreign countries have used philanthropic donations to universities to fund the establishment of “Asian Studies” and “Middle Eastern Studies” departments. These may seem benign, but they are a covert conduit for the propagation of a foreign agenda, particularly those of Chinese or Arab origin.
Recent campus protests have turned major universities into chaos. This shouldn’t be a surprise. These schools have spent years recruiting plagiaristic idiots to run a variety of postmodern grievance studies departments. These Marxist professors have a remarkable influence on students. In combination with well-funded anarchists from outside the schools, they have created mayhem espoused by the stupidest people imaginable.
We do not allow foreign governments to own our radio and TV stations. We worry that they will be used for anti-American propaganda and influence. Congress just acted to safeguard national security by banning platforms such as TikTok from being owned by a foreign company. We must have a similarly vigilant stance against subversive incursions into academia.
Our youth, ensconced within the corridors of academia, stand at a critical juncture, susceptible to the siren calls of foreign propagandists. As they navigate the labyrinthine pathways of higher education, they must be shielded from the insidious machinations of foreign powers seeking to exploit their impressionable minds.
Let us not underestimate the gravity of this threat. The stakes are high, for the future of our nation hinges upon the integrity of our educational institutions. We must remain steadfast in our commitment to academic freedom, intellectual independence, and the sanctity of truth. Only by exposing and confronting foreign machinations can we safeguard the cherished ideals upon which our democracy is built. Go read Submission.
